Service Description
In this seven-week course, we meet Saturday mornings at various locations on or near the Niagara Frontier Food Terminal campus*. We focus on observation, composition, simplification, and color mixing. You'll work with real scenes to improve your skills and enjoy the vibrant world of painting. Experience Level: Some beginning experience painting and/or drawing preferred. No plein air experience needed. Materials: You may bring your own materials or purchase the use of studio materials as an add on at check out. A welcome email and supply list will be sent upon registration. For this course, you may choose to work in oil, acrylic, or both. Learning Modalities: Demonstrations, examples, short exercises, group feedback, and finished paintings. * This is not a traditional plein air location. We will not be find idyllic scenes; things are a bit grubby and industrial. * A minimum of 5 students is needed for this course to run.

At SMZ Art Studios, class registrations are non-refundable. In the event of personal extenuating circumstances, please reach out personally as credit toward another session may be offered. In the event of inclement weather, classes are cancelled and a makeup date is offered.
